A state-of-the-art centre for vocational education has been opened today by Carwyn Jones, First Minister of Wales, at Merthyr Tydfil College. The facilities aim to support and develop industry in the Heads of the Valleys, and are a joint creation of the College and the Welsh Assembly Government. More than 200 full and part-time students from across the construction industry will learn their trades in the new workshops, together with over 100 trainee engineers and motor vehicle mechanics.
