University re-opening Monday 21 January

January 20, 2013

The University is expected to re-open at 7am on Monday 21 January, following last week’s severe weather.

All timetabled teaching activity is expected to take place as normal, although students are advised to check Blackboard and Glamlife for specific course updates before traveling to the University. Students should also note the parking information below.

We expect to return to normal service, however there may be some continued disruption as a result of the freezing weather.

All campus users are advised to please beware of icy conditions when traveling to the University and when on campus. Every effort has been made to clear snow from the main paths and car parks, but snow and ice remains in some areas. We advise that you wear appropriate footwear for the conditions, such as wellington or walking boots.

Rail users are advised to take particular care when walking to the University from Treforest train station as the platforms, car park and pavements around Brook Street are extremely icy.

The main on-campus car parks – Lower Glyntaff and G Block – have been cleared, but other areas have not, resulting in parking being more limited than usual. Student parking will also be limited as it has not been possible to clear the student car park in Treforest. Students are advised to use public transport or car-share where possible.

Parking in the Atrium campus is not expected to be affected.
