Welsh Crucible: call for applications now open
January 31, 2012
The call for applications has now opened for the Welsh Crucible, a prestigious professional and leadership development programme for the future research leaders of Wales.
The 2012 Welsh Crucible, now in its second year, is a collaborative initiative funded by the St David’s Day group of higher education institutions (Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff, Glamorgan, Swansea).
The Welsh Crucible will take place over three intensive two-day (residential) workshops featuring inspiring guest speakers, seminars, skills sessions and informal discussions.
Three of Glamorgan’s researchers were selected to participate in the Welsh Crucible 2011 and their feedback was very positive. All of them have made new networks with other participants and some have collaborative research projects already underway.
Applications are invited from researchers, in any discipline, with three years’ postdoctoral research experience or equivalent. Participants must work in Wales, either at a St David’s Day university or in research and development in business, industry or the public sector.
Further information on applying can be found at http://www.welshcrucible.org.uk/ or by contacting Dr Owain Kerton, Research Advisor, University of Glamorgan (01443) 483713 or mailto:ojkerton@glam.ac.uk
