Best New University title for Glamorgan
September 9, 2011
The University of Glamorgan has been named as Wales’ top new university by The Sunday Times University Guide, which will be published on Sunday.
The University also has the 7th highest success rate (94.4%) in the whole of the UK for its graduates finding employment after graduating.
Julie Lydon, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glamorgan, said: “Glamorgan’s Sunday Times position as Wales’s best new university reflects a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment by our staff and students. Our particularly strong result in having the lowest level of graduate unemployment of any Welsh university, a performance in which Glamorgan is ranked in the top seven across the entire UK, shows the benefit of tailoring our courses to the needs of employers, especially in the current economic climate. This is a result of our close partnership with industry and our commitment to giving students the employability skills they need to succeed in the jobs market.”
