Glamorgan student Sajid Ali, 21, is increasing his chances of a graduate job by learning about life in industry on a sales placement with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. Having just completed his second year at Glamorgan Business School, studying for a BA (Hons) degree in Marketing and Business, Sajid says:

“Rolls-Royce is one of the most prestigious brands in the world, and I am delighted to have been accepted. My interviews tested the extracurricular opportunities I have at the University, as well as my academic profile. I explained about being a course representative, which means that I feed to my fellow students’ opinions on the course to my lecturers. I also explained in the interview how I often work with the marketing department on Open and Applicant Days, presenting to potential students about studying at Glamorgan, and working as a marketing executive with the Glamorgan Business School society.”
Julie Gould, Glamorgan Business School’s Employability Officer, said “Work placements are the perfect opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals. By being involved in ongoing projects and having a responsible dedicated role in the workplace, students find out what they really want from their career, while businesses have an input into training future graduates. Sajid is a very capable individual who is very keen to develop his skills and I am confident he will thrive during his placement at Rolls-Royce.”
