Glamorgan’s Disaster Expertise Goes Global

Academics from the University will be sharing their knowledge at “Dealing with Disasters- 2009” which takes place on 11th and 12th November in Nepal. The conference series is in its third year and was co-founded by Professor Brian Hobbs, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research at Glamorgan.

Education Really is a Gift

The University of Glamorgan’s Business School last week launched Glam Gift – Build a Future, a one month campaign of fundraising activities by its staff and students. Working with Oxfam (Cymru) staff and students are aiming to raise at least £1700 to build, equip and refurbish a school in a less privileged part of the world by Christmas.

Future Sporting Stars Rewarded

The young sports stars of the future were awarded scholarships at the University of Glamorgan last week.

20 young sports men and women from rugby players to cyclists gained the scholarship designed to support elite and world class athletes while they are carrying out academic studies.

The students were presented with their scholarships by former Wales rugby international Rupert Moon at an awards ceremony on campus.

Over a quarter of PCS member in Wales experience bullying

1 in 4 (26.4%) members of a civil service union in Wales have been bullied at work and 44% experience negative behaviour on at least a weekly basis according to an independent survey by Glamorgan Business School’s Centre for Research in Workplace Behaviours (CRWB) for the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS).
