Celebrating Entrepreneurial Women Expo

Event Date March 9, 2011 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Location – Basement nightclub, Students Union, University of Glamorgan Treforest Campus

The theme for International Women’s Day 2011 is “Equal access to education, training and science and technology: Pathway to decent work for women”. The Women’s Entrepreneurship Hub: Centre for Enterprise is marking the occasion with the Celebrating Entrepreneurial Women Expo as part of the Networking Entrepreneurial Women – or new@glam – initiative.

The CEW Expo will be an exhibition with demonstrations featuring University of Glamorgan entrepreneurial women students and staff, women entrepreneurs from the local business community and representatives from business support organisations who will give information and advice to new and existing businesses. Exihibitors/demonstrators include Out of the Box Gifts, specialising in promotional chocolate bars, Lemon Blues (knitted textiles, accessories and jewellery), Coffee Continental (cakes and biscuits), Avon products and Nail Divas. There will also be a taster “Draw a Musician” session with graphic artist and tutor Tracey Rees and flortist and flute teacher Joyce Carter.

If you’re an entrepreneurial woman student (or member of staff) and would like to be an exhibitor or give demonstrations, please email Christine Atkinson, Marilia Angove or Varaidzo Mumbire via weh@glam.ac.uk as soon as possible.

If you’d like to visit the event, entry to the CEW Expo! is free, so make a date in your diary now to come and join in the celebrations and support our entrepreneurial women.
